I am Zohar Frank. I am a yoga teacher, a dancer and a philosophy scholar.
I was born in Israel and have been living in Berlin since 2007.
I have been practising yoga in various styles for many years, and since my arrival in Berlin I am practising mainly Anusara. In 2012 I was certified as a Hatha yoga teacher in the style of Anusara by Lalleshvari and Vilas Turske in City Yoga Berlin. I had the pleasure of studying also with Tara Judelle, Chris Chavez, Bridget Woods-Kramer, Cyndie Lee, Sianna Sherman, Detlev Alexander and Tina Lobe. Alongside my dance studies I was certified in 2004 as a Pilates mat teacher by Kane School of Core Integration in New York, and my teaching experience includes also Pilates and various dance related practices. I constantly seek to deepen my own practice as well as my teaching skills by continuously retaining, alongside teaching, the privileged position of a student.
I see yoga as a spiritual practice that disguises itself as a physical one. Uniting body and mind, the practice of yoga enhances our awareness, enables us to inhabit the present, and finally, it allows us to enter into a realm of thankfulness. Anusara, the style I practice and teach, is a Hatha yoga practice which emphasizes alignment, the anatomical basis of each asana, and the spiritual and philosophical aspects of the yoga practice altogether. Deriving from a spiritual or philosophical principle, each class revolves around a certain theme which is then manifested in the asana sequence and enriches the physical practice.
